What is the stabilized flammability of Polyisobutylene Pib

Polyisobutylene (PIB) generally exhibits a relatively low flammability. It is a non-polar polymer, which contributes to its stability in high-temperature environments. However, while PIB itself does not ignite easily under normal conditions, it can combust when exposed to sufficient heat or flame.

In terms of applications, PIB is often used in products such as lubricants, fuel additives, and sealants where its resistance to heat is advantageous. Its thermal stability and low reactivity make it useful in high-temperature environments like engine oils and as a component in tires. However, in cases where PIB is exposed to intense heat or flame, it may burn with low smoke emissions, which is another advantage in certain industrial settings.
