Coatings, Paints, Inks & Adhesives

In coatings, the solvent controls viscosity, drying speed and film finish. Esters such as ethyl acetate dry quickly and suit coatings, inks and adhesives. Aromatic solvents such as xylene are common thinners and carriers in paints. Ketones such as cyclohexanone dissolve a wide range of resins. Choice depends on the resin system, the drying time you need and local odor or emission rules.

Pharmaceuticals & Fine Chemicals

Pharmaceutical processes use solvents as reaction media and for extraction and crystallization. Polar aprotic solvents such as DMSO and DMF are common in synthesis, while dichloromethane and ethyl acetate are widely used for extraction. Buyers with grade or impurity requirements should state them in the inquiry so we can confirm the specification before quoting.

Textiles & Fibers

Ethylene glycol is a main raw material for polyester fiber. Organic acids such as glacial acetic acid are used for pH control in dyeing and finishing, and polar solvents such as DMF and DMSO are used in fiber spinning and synthetic leather.

Industrial Manufacturing & Cleaning

Cyclohexanone is an intermediate in nylon production. Aromatics such as o-xylene feed downstream chemicals used in resins and plasticizers. Chlorinated solvents are used for cleaning and degreasing where local rules allow.

How to Choose a Solvent

Four questions narrow most choices:

What must it dissolve?

Resin, active ingredient or dye decides the solvent type.

How fast must it dry or evaporate?

This sets the evaporation rate range.

What purity or grade is required?

Industrial, high-purity or application-specific.

Are there local restrictions?

Some solvents are limited in certain markets, so confirm before ordering.
