Industrial Applications
1. Food processing industry:
Benzalkonium Chloride 80% is used to sterilize food processing equipment and packaging materials. Food processing equipment can be immersed in the diluted solution (the general dilution ratio is 1:500 - 1:2000), or wiped on the surface of the equipment with the solution, effectively killing bacteria, viruses, and fungi-contaminated during food processing. For food packaging materials, the diluted solution (the general dilution ratio is 1:1000 - 1:3000) can be applied to the surface of packaging materials by spraying to ensure the safety of food in the process of food processing and packaging and extend the shelf life of food.
2. Water treatment field:
Benzalkonium Chloride 80% has applications in swimming pool water and drinking water treatment. In swimming pool water, a diluted solution with a concentration of 0.2 - 0.5mg/L is generally used in combination with other water treatment measures (e.g. filtration, pH adjustment, etc.) to keep swimming pool water clean and sanitary. In drinking water treatment, it is used in lower concentrations, generally around 0.01 - 0.1mg/L, for inhibiting the growth of bacteria and algae in water to ensure the quality of drinking water.
3. Textile industry:
Benzalkonium Chloride 80% is used as an antibacterial finishing agent for textiles. Soak the fabric in a solution containing 1% - 5% (adjusted according to the type and use of the fabric) of diluted benzalkonium chloride, after drying, curing, and other processes, the fabric can obtain antibacterial properties, used in the production of medical work clothes, antibacterial bedding, etc., to enhance the antimicrobial and anti-mildew ability of textiles.
