What are PIB fuel additives?

Polyisobutylene (PIB) is a colorless, odorless, non-toxic viscous or semi-solid substance with good heat, oxygen, ozone, weather, UV, acid and alkali resistance and other chemical properties. It can be used in lubricants. It has very important uses in additives, post-processing of polymer materials, pharmaceuticals and cosmetics, food additives, and other chemical book fields.

What are PIB fuel additives?

Polyisobutylene (PIB) is commonly used in fuel additives because of its excellent resistance to both thermal and oxidative stress. PIB enhances the performance of fuels by improving properties such as lubricity and stability, particularly in extreme conditions. These additives are particularly valuable in engines, where they help to prevent deposit formation and reduce friction, ultimately improving efficiency and lifespan of engine parts. Additionally, PIB can mix with hydrophobic substances, contributing to better overall fuel performance in both gasoline and diesel engines.
