Methyl tert-butyl ether (MTBE), also known as tert-butyl methyl ether, is mainly used as a fuel additive.

MTBE Uses:

• MTBE is used as a gasoline additive to increase the octane number, and can also be cracked to produce isobutylene, used as a gasoline additive, with excellent anti-knock properties.
• It has good miscibility with gasoline, little water absorption, and no pollution to the environment.
