What are the mixed aromatics of C8?

It is a mixture of C8 aromatics consisting of three xylene isomers (o-xylene, m-xylene, and p-xylene) and ethylbenzene. Used primarily as a solvent and precursor to polyethylene terephthalate (PET).

Industrial Applications
Para-xylene (PX) – Used primarily in the production of terephthalic acid (PTA) and polyethylene terephthalate (PET), which are essential for fibers, plastics, and beverage bottles.
Ortho-xylene (OX) – A feedstock for phthalic anhydride, used in plasticizers, resins, and coatings.
Meta-xylene (MX) – Utilized in producing isophthalic acid, which is used in specialty polyesters and coatings.
Ethylbenzene (EB) – Mainly converted into styrene monomer, the raw material for polystyrene plastics, ABS, and synthetic rubber.
