PAC, or Poly Aluminium Chloride, is an inorganic polymer coagulant. In the water purification process, PAC is primarily used as a flocculant. Through mechanisms such as charge neutralization and adsorption bridging, it destabilizes fine suspended particles and colloidal ions in the water, causing them to flocculate and settle, thereby achieving purification.
At defined optimum experimental conditions (coagulant dose: 70 mg/L, coagulant aid dose: 2 mg/L, and pH 7), PAC showed 70% removal for COD and 98% of TSS.
