Anionic polyacrylamide is mainly used in mineral processing, metallurgy, coal washing, food processing, steel, textile, and papermaking industries, involving solid-liquid separation and wastewater treatment. It can also be used for oil well drilling and oil extraction in the petroleum industry, as well as a retention aid and strength enhancer in the papermaking industry.
Cationic PAM:
Cationic polyacrylamide is mainly used as a flocculant and dewatering agent for industrial wastewater and sewage; as a retention aid and strength enhancer in the papermaking industry; for wastewater treatment in the pharmaceutical, leather, printing, and dyeing industries; and as a sizing agent in the textile industry.
Nonionic PAM:
Nonionic polyacrylamide is mainly used as a highly selective flocculant in oil well fluids and for the treatment of acidic wastewater.

Storage and Shelf Life:
PAM (polyacrylamide) polymer should be stored in a dry and cool warehouse. It has a shelf life of 24 months.
Solution Preparation:
The solution should be prepared at a concentration of 0.1–0.3% solids. The make-up water temperature should be between 10°C and 40°C for optimal product performance. After dispersing the product into agitated water, stirring should continue for about one hour. The prepared liquid polyacrylamide solution remains stable for up to one week.
