Formamide (Methanamide) is colorless, transparent, odorless with water absorbability oil liquid. Contains impurities with slightly ammonia smell. Insoluble in ether and chlorinated solvents, soluble in benzene, can be mixed with water, methanol, ethanol, acetic acid, acetone, dioxane, ethylene glycol, phenol and lower ester.

Formamide/Methanamide Uses

• Formamide has active reactivity and special dissolution ability, can be used as organic synthesis raw material, paper treatment agent, fiber industry softener, animal glue softener, and also used as an analytical reagent to determine the amino acid content in rice
• Formamide is mainly used in spinning and ion exchange resins of acrylonitrile copolymers, as well as anti-static coating or conductive coating of plastic products.
• In addition,Formamide is also used to separate chlorosilane, purify oil and so on.
