• 2-Methyl-1-Propanol functions as an effective co-solvent for cellulose nitrate and as a dissolving medium for materials such as ethyl cellulose, polyvinyl butyral, various oils, rubber compounds, and natural resins, supporting stable formulation performance.
• In industrial synthesis, Isobutanol is primarily for manufacturing diisobutyl phthalate, a widely used plasticizer, and isobutyl acetate, which plays an important role in lacquer production and related coating systems. Smaller quantities are further processed into derivatives including isobutyl butyrate and isobutyl lactate.
• Within analytical and laboratory applications, isobutanol serves as a chemical reagent for elemental analysis involving calcium, strontium, barium, sodium, potassium, lithium, silver, chlorine, and phosphite. It is also applied as an extraction solvent in organic synthesis and as a mobile phase component in thin-layer chromatography.
• Beyond synthesis and analysis, Isobutanol is widely utilized as a solvent in paints, as a component in varnish removal formulations, and as a functional ingredient in printing inks.
