Is manganese carbonate safe?

Both dermal and oral toxicity of manganese salts is low because of limited solubility of manganese. No known permanent pulmonary sequelae develop after acute manganese exposure.

Is manganese carbonate soluble in water?

Manganese(II) carbonate is a chemical compound that has a structure similar to calcite, with octahedral co-ordination symmetry. It is a carbonate that is insoluble in water and on treatment with acid it gives water soluble salts.

Physical properties of Manganese Carbonate:

Appearance: The new precipitator is pink to almost white powder, which gradually changes to light brown in the air. There is also an amorphous bright white-brown powder under normal conditions.
Density: Relative density is 3.125 (25℃), relatively high density.
Solubility: almost insoluble in water, slightly soluble in water containing carbon dioxide (i.e. carbonic acid), insoluble in alcohol and liquid ammonia.
Melting point: no exact melting point data, but under certain high-temperature conditions will be decomposed and other reactions.
