Polyacrylamide Uses
Cationic Polyacrylamide (CPAM):
Cationic Polyacrylamide is a flocculant. It is a linear polymer that dissolves in water, with molecular weights ranging from 6 million to 12 million. It is mainly used for sewage treatment.
Anionic Polyacrylamide (APAM):
Anionic Polyacrylamide is a water-soluble polymer with a molecular weight of about 18 million. It is mainly used for treating industrial wastewater.
Nonionic Polyacrylamide (NPAM):
Nonionic Polyacrylamide is a type of polyacrylamide with a degree of hydrolysis between 0% and 5%. It is mainly used in oil well fluids and for treating acidic wastewater.

Usage Instructions for Polyacrylamide (PAM):
- Do not add Polyacrylamide directly to sewage. It must be fully dissolved in water before use.
- Use clean water for dissolution. Heating is not necessary, but the water temperature should not be too low-preferably above 5°C. Low temperatures slow down dissolution, while temperatures above 40°C may negatively affect performance.
- Avoid using strongly acidic, strongly alkaline, or high-salinity water when preparing the solution.
- Recommended concentration: 0.1% to 0.3%. For example, dissolve 1–3 grams of PAM in 1 liter of water.
- If dispersion is poor, consider diluting further to improve solubility.
In summer (warmer water):
Cationic and Anionic PAM: mix for about 1 hour
Nonionic PAM: mix for about 2 hours
In winter (colder water):
Cationic and Anionic PAM: mix for about 1.5 hours
Nonionic PAM: mix for about 3 hours
