Distilled Monoglyceride is a milky white to light yellow flake or powder. It has a melting point of 58–59°C and a relative density of 0.97. It is insoluble in water but disperses in hot water, functioning as an oil-in-water emulsifier with excellent emulsifying properties. It is soluble in hot organic solvents such as ethanol, benzene, acetone, and mineral oils.

Applications:

• Distilled Monoglyceride is widely used as an emulsifier, co-emulsifier, stabilizer, and preservative. It also serves as an emulsifier in industrial lubricants for textiles and as a lubricant for fabrics. In plastic films, it acts as a flow agent and anti-fog agent. It is used as a lubricant and antistatic agent in plastic processing, as well as a suppository base and drug carrier in the pharmaceutical industry. Additionally, it is used in the formulation of cosmetic creams, lotions, and emulsions.
• In food applications, Distilled Monoglyceride is used in dairy products, margarine, and baked goods at typical usage levels of 0.3% to 0.5%. It is also used as an anti-foaming agent in soy sauce, tofu, and lactic acid beverages, with a recommended usage of 0.1%.
